Whether you are planning to visit London for a holiday, or you are living in the city full time, it can be a big mistake to wait until the time of performance to book your tickets to the theatre. I always advise people who are fans of the theatre to keep well up to speed with the latest shows and there are plenty of websites online which will give you the news first about what is coming up in London’s west end.
One such show is the highly anticipated theatrical return of The Wizard of Oz. This is bound to be a sell out show, and although first showings are not until March 2011, byt the time the first showing comes round, it is not inconceivable that the rest of the run could have already sold out in its entirety! It is best to plan ahead for these things, and I would suggest booking your Wizard of Oz tickets well before you book your hotel or travel tickets. These things will always be available but there is little point being able to stay somewhere, and being able to get somewhere, without being able to do the thing that made you want to go there in the first place!

Many years ago I was almost forced to go on holiday with my parents to Paris. I was sixteen at the time and I really felt that I was old enough to go away on my own with my friends but my parents had other ideas. They thought that I was still too young, but they promised me that they would give me some lee way and time alone in Paris to get used to surviving in a foreign country without their support. I thought that this was ridiculous at the time but it didn’t look like we had much choice!
I set off with them with heavy heart but i have to admit that when we arrived it did look like a fantastic place. As soon as we arrived I took my parents up on their word and set about exploring the local area. I found a great looking club and I went back to the hotel to tell my parents that I would be going out tonight. I was expecting a full scale row but to my surprise they just said fine, don’t be back too late! Once the week was over, two things had happened. My parents had found a new level of trust in me and I had fallen in love with Paris.
I don’t have all the money in the world but luckily there are lots of cheap hotels in Paris so I head back there every year! A lot of my friends are now converts, and surprisingly, we all have my parents to thank for this!
