Family Wedding Photo Albums Offer Fresh Perspective

Posted: May 30th, 2011 under News.

You need wedding ideas and you’d like some fresh input, maybe even something different than the latest in bridal print magazines and online blogs. How about a wedding retrospective? Dig out your parent’s wedding photo albums; find those from others in your family like aunts and uncles and grandparents. Maybe friends have some they can share.

The idea is to get a fresh look at weddings for our time by looking at weddings from the past. Some traditions fade over time; maybe you want to revive or refresh something that’s been around for a long time but is out of fashion now. Maybe your friends haven’t worn wedding garters in their recent weddings and you’d like to or you find an idea for a unity candle in your grandparent’s wedding photo album.

You may not necessarily find new wedding ideas but a different perspective and view on traditional aspects of the wedding ceremony, dress, decorations and traditions. Looking at similar information from a different time period or someone else’s perspective gets our own creativity flowing and we can envision fresh ideas…though many of them are reshaped ideas that have been around for centuries. Take a look—you might be surprised.
