The key to budget travel is to plan ahead. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our minds. Planning and spending our travel dollar wisely is a priority for most families. Curbing spending and costs, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed success and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you!

The reasoning behind saving money while traveling is simple:

Even if your personal budget is extremely tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel bill!

For example, all those hotel extra’s, cab-fares, tips, restaurants, car rentals, gas for your own vehicle if on a road trip, tickets for special attractions or events, beach-and-pool-side drinks (if not at an all-inclusive resort or cruise) and more, adds on and piles up! This brings us to the some of the rhyme and reason behind budgeting for travel and planning well. This also applies monetarily, to ensure your trip is a success, enjoyable and memorable. Your outlook could be a balance between replenishing your resources and not breaking the bank in the process!

Travel World Wide With Very Little Cash

Travel world wide without much cash? You must be crazy! Everyone knows that world travel takes a lot of money and that if you don’t have money, you can’t do it.

Wrong! The only thing it takes to travel the world is a passport and the will to travel. Just pick up one foot and put it in front of the other. The hard part is getting away from your attachments to the things that hold you back. If you have to pay a hefty mortgage bill, auto payments, insurance premiums, and credit card bills, chances are that you aren’t going to break free from your job and move out into the world of travel.

So, how do you break free and become a world traveling vagabond? First of all, you have to get rid of all that debt. If your house payments are costing you more than your house is worth, sell it. Get out from under that monstrosity, even if you take a loss. Next, get rid of your hummer and start taking the bus. Get a consolidation loan for all of your debts and then negotiate for a lower interest rate, or just go bankrupt! Why not! The whole world awaits you!

Worried about pulling your kids from school? Why? Public education stinks and your children will get a better education on the road than they will ever get in some under funded, state supported school. Maybe it’s your family that is holding you back. Wife doesn’t want to travel? Dump her, put her at her mother’s, or let her support the household while you are gone. Same goes for husbands. Who needs a stick in the mud?

Finally, the job. Tell your boss that you don’t want to come to the office any more. Tell him you will be more productive from home. Tell him that you need some time to figure things out. Or just quit. The world is waiting and you are dying! It’s time to live! Travel world wide and damn the consequences.

Ireland has three main airlines that are based in Ireland, Aer Lingus, Aer Arran and Ryanair. Aer Lingus is the national airline of Ireland and was established in 1936. Ryanair was founded in 1985 and has grown rapidly to become one of Europe’s largest airlines. Aer Arann was founded in 1970 and is Ireland’s third largest airline. Between them they offer flights to Ireland from the UK, Europe, North America, North Africa and the Middle East.dublin_airport

Aer Lingus, the flag carrier of Ireland, celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2011 and is partly owned by the Irish Government. The name Aer Lingus comes from the Gaelic Aer Loingeas meaning Air Fleet. The first flight was on the 27 May 1936 from Dublin to Bristol using a six-seat aircraft. During 2010 the airline flew over 9 million passengers and operates flights to Ireland using the airports of Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Shannon and Knock. The airline has a low fares structure on its European routes and a two-class fare structure on the transatlantic routes. As of 2011 the airline has around 60 short haul European routes and 5 long haul routes to North America.

Ryanair started flights in 1985 with a single 14-seat aircraft operating flights between Waterford in the southeast of Ireland and London Gatwick airport. Due to partial European deregulation the airline gained more routes to the UK but it wasn’t until 1992 when the EU deregulated the air industry in Europe that airlines such as Ryanair could operate flights between member countries in the EU. The airline operates a low fares business model by flying to regional airports, having a no-frills service, and requiring direct booking via the Ryanair website or through their call centre. Unlike a lot of other airlines, Ryanair has continued to have an increase in traffic despite the general fall in passenger numbers. The airline operates flights to Ireland using the airports of Dublin, Cork, Derry, Knock and Shannon.

Aer Arann was originally set up to provide an air service for the Aran Islands situated off the west coast of Galway. In 1998 the Irish Government awarded the company the Public Service Obligation routes between Donegal and Dublin with the Sligo to Dublin route following later. This granted Aer Arann a monopoly to operate these routes. New air routes were soon established in the UK, Jersey, Isle of Man, Holland, France and Spain. The airline operates from the airports of Cork, Dublin, Kerry, Shannon and Waterford in Ireland. With the recent downturn in passenger numbers, Aer Arann has had to terminate some routes and mainly concentrates now on flights to the major British cities, the Isle of Man and seasonal flights to Lorient and Rennes in France.
